Thanks for this video, this is the best video available showing how to disassemble and reassemble the Model S headlights. You really included all the important information, including what temperature to use if using an oven, how to use the heat gun and tools to gently open the light up, how to prep the parts for painting, how to reassemble and what adhesive to use, you included lots of notes like making sure to use a gasket on the screws to avoid condensation, and how to pry it open without breaking tabs. The whole video you spoke clearly and concisely, and your mic setup was perfect. Well done. I plan on using the method you demonstrated here along with your comment notes, to do the same blackout paint in my headlights, and also in order to access and replace the DRLs.

My 2006 is 250 drivers side headlight only works 50 percent of the time an when it does work theres a humming sound is this a ballast or bulb issue?

So the Hybrid has the chrome blue LED strip and the regular Touring has the chrome white LED strip?

I don’t see a reason to remove the lens, just the ballast at the back is enough.

Honda had a recall on these . If you go to any Honda dealer, they will replace the entire lamp for free. I had both of mine replaced in my 2016 Accord.

Looks like a great repair if you can find a donor light and Honda won't fix it under the extended warranty, but I have a hard time believing that that seal is going to keep water and moisture out once you have broken it without cleaning up the old sealant and replacing it very carefully.

Honda recognized the issue with the day running light that they extended the warranty to 10 years with unlimited miles. Why not just put new LED bulbs in the stock housings? I did that on my daughter's 2002 Ranger with 20,000 lumen headlights and the light was very bright with a great beam pattern.

Words cannot describe how much of a fucker that adhesive is to get off. Previous owner of mine added about 3x as much as well. Currently sweating my tits off getting it all out

I broke my bulb projector an it’s inside my headlight ima get that rubber an take it out

I need some help, I bought a used passenger side headlight and when the shop installed it they said it didn’t work. They weren’t specific on why. What could be the reason for this? Could it just need a new ballast? My current passenger headlight is busted out and the only light that doesn’t work is low beam. Should I transfer my old ballast to my new headlight and see if it works? Or should I just see if I could return it?
